1. Lasith Malinga

There is no denying the fact that Lasith Malinga has left a huge legacy behind him in the Indian Premier League. Malinga represented Mumbai Indians since the inaugural edition of the tournament.

He was their strike bowler for many years and helped the team win countless matches with his heart-warming spells. Lasith Malinga is currently the highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League. In 122 matches, he has 170 wickets to his name at an outstanding average of 19.8.

2. Dwayne Bravo

CSK’s all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo finds himself at the number two position in the list. He has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings for many years now. Bravo is perfect in varying the pace of the bowl and has been bamboozling the batsmen with his slower balls for a long time now. Prior to the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, he wasn’t retained by the franchise.

However, the Yellow Army managed to bring him back into the team after acquiring his services at the auction. Ahead of the 2022 edition of the IPL, he will, once again, be playing for CSK in the Indian Premier League. Currently, he is just 3 wickets short of equaling Malinga’s record. The Sri Lankan pacer has 167 wickets to his name in 151 matches at an average of 24.31.

3. Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra has got the most number of wickets as an Indian bowler in IPL. Overall, he has the third-most number of wickets to his name. In 154 matches, Amit Mishra has 166 wickets to his name at an average of 23.95.  

Due to the presence of Ashwin and Axar Patel, Amit Mishra didn’t get the opportunity to play a lot of matches for the Delhi Capitals in the last two editions of the IPL. He went unsold in the recently IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

4. Piyush Chawla

Indian leg-spinner, Piyush Chawla is the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. He is known for his impactful performances with the ball while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chennai Super Kings bought his services in IPL 2020 but he endured a forgettable outing with the ball. In his IPL career, Piyush Chawla has managed to pick 157 wickets in 165 matches at an average of 27.39.

5. Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh is one of the household names in the Indian Premier League. Counted amongst India’s greatest spinners, Harbhajan Singh needs no introduction. He was a vital part of Mumbai Indians and also led the side in the Indian Premier League.

During his IPL career, he exhibited some sensational bowling performances and played a major role in helping the team win three titles.

He picked 24 wickets in 2013 edition and, thereby, helped the side win their first IPL title. He, currently, has the fifth-most number of wickets to his name in IPL. In 163 matches, Harbhajan Singh managed to pick 160 wickets at an average of 26.86
