Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5 Tips and predictions: Best picks for your team

Gameweek 4 had some exciting matches where Liverpool scored 9 goals and Arsenal maintained their 100% win rate this season. United won narrowly against the Saints while City managed another another comeback win thanks to the hat-trick by Erling Haaland. If you want Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5 tips and predictions you have come to the right place!

Matches to target

Southampton vs Chelsea:

Southampton are looking very lacklustre and are being touted as a probable relegation candidate. Chelsea are not at their best but are still winning.

Leeds vs Everton:

Everton are really struggling and Leeds are playing better than they did last season. Everton away at Elland Road might be a good opportunity for Leeds.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa:

Steven Gerrard’s men have only won 3 of their last 15 matches. Arsenal are playing as good as they have in years. It’s certainly a good opportunity for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Bournemouth vs Wolves:

Wolves are playing well and Bournemouth just collapsed like a house of cards against Liverpool. Probable win for Wolves.

Manchester City vs Nottingham Forrest:

City are clinical in front of goal and although Forrest aren’t playing very bad, they’ll probably end up losing.

West Ham vs Tottenham: Tottenham are not a free scoring side but they are quite solid defensively. West Ham are faring poorly this season.

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5 Tips: Players to target

Liverpool players like Salah blanked in GW4 but they played great football. If you have Salah, Alexander-Arnold, or Diaz, it’s best to hold. Newcastle also played well in GW 4. It might be a cagey affair but no real certainty about which way it’ll sway. Leicester are playing poorly as well but Manchester United players can’t be relied upon either.

Defenders:

Chelsea’s James is a good attacking outlet for Tuchel’s system but the Blues defence is being leaky. However, Southampton is not a major treat.
Cancelo doesn’t look like the same player as last year but if you have him, hold on to him against newly promoted Forrest. Trent Alexander-Arnold is always a good pick for FPL. Walker can be a cheaper alternative to Cancelo. Arsenal’s Saliba and White are good budget options. Brighton are playing well and Dunk can be relied upon. if you have any Spurs defenders like Perisic or Royal, hold on to them.

Midfielders

Gundogan and Silva of Manchester City are playing well forward in Pep’e team and are returning points. Salah is a must have if you have FPL. Diaz can be a good option with the Colombian coming of age in the PL. Odegaard has bagged 3 goals in 2 matches and Xhaka is playing attacking football as well. Pascal Gros of Brighton is on a roll and doesn’t cost much. Arsenal’s Martinelli is a good cheap option as well.If you have Spurs’ Kulusevski, hold him. Fulham’s Perreira is a cheap budget option.

Attackers:

Haaland looks undroppable but Kane is also firing on all cylinders. Jesus is player that is playing fantastic football as well. Toney and Mitrovic and great cheap options from smaller teams. If you’re looking for a sub 6.5 option, Welbeck could be your pick as he’s currently the 6th most in-form striker in the FPL.

Goalkeepers:

Ramsdale is playing fine and so is Brighton’s Sanchez. Wolves’ Sa and Newcastle’s Pope are gathering a lot of points in the FPL, making them great picks. Lloris looks likely to have a fair few cleansheets because of Conte’s good defense.

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 5 Tips: Captain and Vice captain

Haaland scored a hattrick last match and it’s very difficult for us to look past him as the captain. Salah against Newcastle could be an option. Kane looks threatening and can score against West Ham.
As a differential, Alexander-Arnold can also be your captain in case you’re going for high risk high reward.
