Matches to target

All the teams will look to take some early momentum into the remainder of the season. Teams will play three matches each in the next ten days. There are a few teams that benefited from the World Cup as their players got more rest time, while some teams lost a few players and will have to cope with the remaining players before the transfer window opens. With top teams looking for three points, here are a few matches to target in this FPL game week 17.

Brentford vs Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur will travel away to Brentford in the opening match of the game week. Spurs are fourth in the league table, and the Bees are in tenth place. Both teams won their last match, with Brentford earning a shock 2-1 victory away at Manchester City. Spurs will be without two key players, Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison. However, they will have the upper hand in this match and could keep a clean sheet.

Leicester City vs Newcastle United

Two in-form teams go head-to-head at the King Power Stadium. Eddie Howe’s men are the surprise pack this season and sit third in the league standings. They are on a five-match winning streak. Leicester City, on the other hand, are in the second half of the table. They had a horrendous start, earning just one point in the first seven matches, but now they have earned 16 points in the last eight matches. This could turn out to be a goal-scoring affair.

Arsenal vs West Ham United

The league leaders will host West Ham United in a London derby. Arsenal are on a three-match winning streak and an eight-match unbeaten streak in the league. West Ham United are struggling above the relegation zone. They have lost their last three matches. The Gunners will be without striker Gabriel Jesus for a few matches. Oleksandr Zinchenko is also a doubt for the Gunners. Gianluca Scamacca was taken off in the last friendly. He is in doubt, along with Michail Antonio and Kurt Zouma. Arsenal will be the favourites to win this match.

Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest

Manchester United will look to get into the top four when they host Nottingham Forest. The Red Devils are fifth in the league table, and Forest are in the relegation zone. Manchester United are short on numbers at the back, but their attack is in good form. The players performed well during the World Cup and will be hoping to continue at the same level for the club. Forest have already earned a victory over Liverpool this season. They will look to cause another upset.

Leeds United vs Manchester City

This will be the final match of the game week. The defending champions suffered a shocking defeat against Brentford before the international break. They will look to shift back the momentum in the title against Leeds United. Manchester City will look to secure three points and play an attacking style of football.
