Key Batsmen to Watch Out for:
- Shubman Gill
Lucknow Super Giants managed to pick Shubman Gill for 7 crores from the pre-auction draft. A talented Indian opener, Shubman Gill will be opening the innings for Gujarat Titans in the upcoming edition.
Gill has performed well with the bat for KKR in the last seasons but his strike rate was a concern. It will be interesting to see how he approaches his innings this time around.
- David Miller
In a big blow for Gujarat Titans, Jason Roy had pulled out of IPL 2022 due to bubble fatigue. In the absence of Roy, the onus will be on David Miller to score runs consistently. He will be key to Gujarat Lions’ fortunes in the tournament.
Key All-rounders to watch out for
- Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the captain of the team. He will lead a newly formed team in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Hardik doesn’t have a successful captaincy record behind him. It will be interesting to see how performs both as a captain and as a batsman.
- Rahul Tewatia
Gujarat Lions broke their bank to buy the Indian spin bowling all-rounder in Rahul Tewatia. He will strengthen the batting unit and will also bowl the quota of four overs. Gujarat Lions would be wanting him to perform well with both bat and ball.
Key Bowlers to watch out for:
- Lockie Ferguson
Lockie Ferguson impressed one and all with his searing pace and his slower balls during his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders. He picked wickets consistently and bowled at an outstanding economy. Heading into a new season, Ferguson will lead Gujarat Lions’s pace department.
- Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan will lead the spin bowling unit of Gujarat Lions in the upcoming edition of IPL. He is one of the best spinners in world cricket right now. Having a player like Rashid Khan in the side will only strengthen Gujarat Lions’ chances of reaching the playoffs.
