Jos Buttler Ruled Out

England suffered a major blow as Jos Buttler got ruled out from the fifth and final day-night Ashes Test at Hobart. The wicket-keeper batsman suffered a finger injury during the drawn fourth Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground and now he will fly home.

As Buttler went home due to injury, the host added young wicket-keeper batsman Sam Billings into their squad. The Kent cricketer will make his debut in the day-night Test match at Hobart, starting on Friday. Billings drove from the Gold Coast to Sydney to join the England squad.

However, Jos Buttler provided a handy contribution in the drawn fourth Test despite his injury. The 31-years-old faced 38 balls for 11 runs and stayed on the crease for 45 minutes during the second innings. He was dismissed for a duck during the first innings.

Ben Stokes also in doubt for the Final Test

Along with Jos Buttler, England are also sweating over the availability of Ben Stokes who played the Sydney Test with side strain and laid the foundation for the draw. The clouds over Johnny Bairstow’s availability too as he also played fourth Test with an injury. However, he scored a century for England in the first inning.

As Jos Buttler and Johnny Bairstow both were injured during the fourth Ashes Test, Ollie Pope was added to the squad in the second inning of Australia.

In the Sydney Test, Jack Leach, Stuart Broad and James Anderson were batted out during the last 10 overs under immense pressure on the last day (Sunday). Earlier, Pat Cummins and Scott Boland both took three quick wickets before Steve Smith picked the wicket of Jack Leach just before the two overs of day end.

However, James Anderson and Stuart Broad both remained unbeaten as England finished the day with 270/9 during their fourth inning. James Anderson played the last ball and remained not out on zero as England drew the fourth Test match. Australia is leading the Ashes with 3-0, the fifth and final Test match will be played at Hobart from Friday. This final Test match will be played with pink ball and in day-night conditions.
